Hmm M.I.A. Terrorist Allegations??

I was recently doing some reading online and I came across some interesting information. While I was trying to figure out what I should wear tomorrow I googled M.I.A. for inspiration (Just a quick line to make sure you were following). Well, to be honest when M.I.A. first came out I thought here music was decent at best. It was hard for me to make out what she was saying through her accent but I continued to listen. After about 4 listens you can really understand her words but they seemed they were actually telling stories, I couldn't decipher what the story was about however. With most of my favorite artist it isn't just there music that attracts me to them, it's the authenticy of their lyrics. I remember when Joe Budden first began rapping I thought he was mediocre at best, that was until I did research on him and he has become my favorite rapper. This is where the story begins... I was on Wikipedia and decided to search for M.I.A., when I couldn't find the information that I was looking for I ended up heading to youtube to find some information about her. There I found this... BE WARNED M.I.A. is originally from Sri Lanka where there has been recent issues in the country with terroristic groups and freedom fighters. THIS VIDEO CONTAINS SUICIDE BOMBERS AND A HORRIBLE RAPPER WHO TRIES TO GAIN FAME FROM THE RECENT CONTROVERSY

So from watching this video this makes the accusation that M.I.A. is part of the terror group LTTE and her Tiger symbol that she frequently uses is a sign of terror. You can link to the LTTE Wikipedia page here

With such accusations as harboring child soldiers and suicide bombings I can only say one thing MIA "NOT COOL". With that being said I do know that there are two sides to every story. The Sri Lankan Government has been discriminating against people of Tamil descent for years now. As i continued to read I discovered that M.I.A.'s father was actually a Tamil freedom fighter and was murdered by gov't officials for leading the people. When I read of this I thought of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. With these videos out portraying the people of Tamil as the "bad guys" it is easy to say hey M.I.A. is a terrorist. But that wouldn't be fair. I know not even 100 years ago the Black Panthers were considered "terrorist". The Rapper who made the video is obviously on the side of the government. The tiger that he claims represents terrorism also reminds me of how many African Americans were criticized for throwing up their fists.

In the video this "rapper" also hints at the bridge of "Paper Planes" to have subliminal terror messages such as "Some of them I murder, Some of them I Let Go". While this may be an important issue in Sri Lanka it puzzles me why this guy is making these accusations now, M.I.A. has been making music since 2003 and he just decides to discuss this now. Also the only song he knows (like most people) is paper planes (the original one though, not the Jim Jones Remix), so I think that some jealousy is definitely involved in this situation.

In conclusion, I think that this guy needs to send his video to Fox News instead of youtube (they probably would play it seriously smh) and heyyyyy I guess those scarves weren't just for her look I find it hilarious how he talks about the way she dresses in the first couple of lines though haha, I thought this was about her being a terrorist right? lol.
