You Can Only Blame Your Problems on the World for So Long

Fall Out Boy on the cover of this mont's Blender. Too bad the article was complete shit.

It’s not hard to find reasons to make fun of Wentz. His swooping bangs and disproportionately large head make him look disturbingly like a grown-up version of a Garbage Pail Kid. He wears girls’ jeans and toils in a genre known more for its interest in cosmetics than for its contributions to the pop-music canon. His lyrics are more self-indulgent than a luxury-spa retreat. Pictures of his penis have wound up on the Internet. He plays the bass—and not very well

Damn homie. The fucked up part is, this is probably Fall Out Boy's best album since Take This To Your Grave too. Probably one of the worst articles i've ever read in a magazine before.

Brownstone.

the article was basically about Pete. It always seems as if its Pete Wentz & the Fall Out Boys. lol, I had to kinda stop mid way because I was getting a little tired of it. But F.O.B is a good band but its just this article didnt do them much justice.

I don't see how this excerpt is supposed to show that the article wasn't good.

All the author said was that it's not hard to find reasons to make fun of Pete, and proceeded to support the point. I've read a lot non-derisive articles where the author took to a little good-natured ribbing. Even if this quote reflects the tone of the rest of the article, I don't think this being Fall Out Boy's best album in a while has anything to do with anything being "fucked up." It wasn't a review, was it?

true, I guess a different quote could have proven the point that the article was written in poor taste could have been used. But if you read any of the band members reactions to the article, you would see that it definstely showed them in an unflattering way. For example, they referred to Andy feeling "suicidal" after watching the Packers lose a football game as well as stirred up rumours that both Patrick and Joe were unhappy in the group.

I don't mean this to be rude, but if you read the article you would clearly see that the article was not what any band would like to see on newsstands with so many quotes taken out of context.

And I said it was "fucked up" because they worked very hard on an album that in my opinion is very good only to have a bad article written about them in a publication that they are on the cover off.

We appreciate your opinion and ideas though. Thanks for a really good post to discuss.
